Student Support Specialist
After a twenty year long career working in the beauty industry I have decided to embark on a new chapter. I am currently enrolled in getting certification in human advocacy to help me follow my passion of giving back. I have lived life experience with institutions and I know firsthand the struggles that individuals face when dealing with mental health hardships and addiction. I have the ability to assist individuals that are facing immense struggles and I possess the tools and skills to assist in making progress in other people's lives.
I am presently mentoring autistic youth in the foster care system. I am developing a relationship to support and assist my mentees in social skill development as well as impulse control, following directions and task management. I use active listening skills and always promote positivity. I am sensitive to people that have different economical, cultural and social backgrounds and strive to empower others through any hardships or adversities that they may be facing. I am the Student Support Specialist at Pathways Charter School Sonoma Site. My role is to promote and coordinate mental health services for the students.
